Sheila Noble was born in Margate and moved to Guernsey in 1978, She was exhibited with The Society of Marine Artists at The Guild Hall, in the city of London four years after she started painting; she also had her first solo exhibition at the Mall Galleries London in 1978. She Exhibited among others at the Society of Women Artists in 1979 St. James's Gallery, St. Peter Port in 1981, 1985 and 1987, and many others, her most recent exhibition was held at Jimmy’s in St. James 2008, celebrating 30 years of her work. She painted prolifically in Kent with artist friends. She found the Guernsey Landscape a different challenge calling for a different attitude. Her favourite venues consist of harbours and seascapes and of course bluebells she won second prize at the JJ. FOX Competition in 2000 with 'Black Hole', and her yellow roses won a certificate of excellence also in 2000. More can be viewed at www.sheilanoble.com |
